Mambo version 4.5.x is not a comprehensive information change management system or CVS.  While it will lock documents to prevent multiple users from editing the same content at the same time, Mambo does not keep versions of documents. 

• Modules - These areas (referred to as "blocks" or "portlets" in other CMS applications) display information and/or interactive features throughout your website.  Modules can be written in HTML, JavaScript, or PHP.  Examples of modules include displaying the latest news and allowing users to enter login information.

• Components - Actual programs that plug in to Mambo.  Components can do everything from manager your contacts to creating a real estate listings.  Components often have modules that allow you to perform certain functions.

• Mambots - Small programs that provide additional functionality, often dynamically changing the behavior of Mambo as the page is rendered.  Mambots are used for things such as invoking your choice of editor and replacing in content "smart tags" with other information (names, text, forms, modules, etc.).

• Registered - Allowed to login to the site's front end and access "private" areas that are not available to the public.
  
  
• Author - Allowed to login to the site's front end and submit content (articles, new, etc) for publication.  They may also edit thier own content.
  
  
• Editor - Allowed to login to the site's front end and submit contecnt and edit any content (published or unpublished).
  
  
• Publisher - Allowed to login to the site's front end and submit, edit, and publish any content.
  
  
• Manager - Allowed to login to the site's administration area (in addition to the front end) and perform functions related to submiting, editing, and publishing content and may also add and edit existing contect areas.
  
  
• Administrator - Allowed to login to the site's administration area (in addition to the front end) Can do most site administration functions.
  
  
• Super Administrator - Allowed to login to the site's administration area (in addition to the front end) and perform all administration functions.  Super Administrators have full access and control over the site.
